HOW TO PREPARE THOOTHUVALAI RASAM:
INGREDIENTS:
- Thorny creeper leaves - 30 leaves
- Pepper - 1 Tea spoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 Tea spoon
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Red chilly - 3 nos
- Coriander leaves - 1 handful
- Curry leaves - 1 strand
- Tamarind - 1 gooseberry size
- Tomato - 1 ( if needed)
- Salt - as needed
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon
- Asfoetida - 1/4 pteap spoon
- Gingelly Oil
METHOD:
- Clean and wash that leaves finely.
- Take a kadaai, pour some oil, add pepper, cumin seeds, thoothuvalai leaves and garlic, then satue well in low medium flame and grind it together finely.
- Then take a kadaai, pour oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, red chilly and that grinded paste, saute them well.
- Then add tamarind paste, turmeric powder, salt and asfoetida.
- After boiling that rasam, add coriander leaves finally and turn off the stove.
- Now you can serve the hot and healthy, yummy thoothuvalai rasam with rice.
