HOW TO PREPARE INDIAN BORAGE TEA (KARPURA VALLI TEA) AT HOME

    The origin of Indian borage or mexican mint is parts of southern and eastern Africa. Indian borage is one of the perennial plant in Africa. Although it also grows in tropical areas around the world. Indian borage is very hardy plant and this has thick fleshy leaves. It grows quickly and it requires very little water. Propagation is by stalk cutting otherwise it can be grown from seeds. Indian borage can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Indian borage is known as Ajwain in Hindi and Karpuravalli in Tamil. It has much more health benefits.

Indian borage has vitamin A, vitamin C, Omega-6 fatty acids and some minerals. 



HOW TO PREPARE INDIAN BORAGE TEA AT HOME:

INGREDIENTS:
  • Indian borage leaves (Karpura valli leaves)
  • Holy basil leaves (Thulasi leaves)
  • Thorny creeper leaves (Thoothuvalai)
  • Dry Ginger
  • Pepper

METHOD:

  • Sun-dry all the ingredients till they became dry completely.
  • Grind it all together to a fine powder. You can use your home mixer grinder.
  • Store the herbal tea powder in a clean and dry airtight container in a cool and dry place. Because moisture can spoil the powder.
  • Make this herb powder or you can add directly those leaves to prepare tea decoction.
TEA PREPARATION:
  • Take a vessel, add one tea-cup of water, add 1/2 tea-spoon of Indian borage herbal tea powder and add required amount of powdered jaggery or palm jaggery or palm candy as per your wishes....
  • Boil till the water decreases to half of the level. Then remove from the heat and filter out by using a clean strainer.
  • Now you can serve or intake  the hot healthy herbal tea.
  • If you would like to add honey, once it cools and strain it, mix it with little honey. Now you can intake.
